TL dr, meta builds + weapons are what make DS doable, with a sprinkling of skill / knowledge.
The fact that Anarchist also means that you don't have to wear any armor allows you sprint around the map much faster, and thus get behind cover more often. These skills combined with the Izhma 12G (which, if you've never tried it, will feel like a massive power boost all on its own) and I'm ready to go. This is just me, but the skills I personally need to DS are: Anarchist (Perk Deck), Inspire, Swan Song, Overkill, Shotgun Impact, Bullseye, Berserker & Frenzy. Only a handful of heists retain their lethality. Don't get me wrong, you still have to pay attention - but it takes it from what feels like impossible to totally manageable. I stream, and eventually some DS experienced players showed up and threw some builds at us. Honestly, I felt the same way - until I put on a meta build.Ī couple of months ago (even as a long time Payday 2 player) my friend and I would just ignore DS, while breezing though DW, cause we just couldn't do it.
